Listen to the Ney*
Complaining of separations:
Since the cut from Neyistan**
Humans have been crying in pain.
...
Those cut from their source
Will long for reunion.

- Hz. Molana Jalaleddin Rumi

Listen to the Ney

A Deep Listening Journey

1 April 2018, 2-4pm
Tumata Instrument Museum, Istanbul

We invite you to a journey, towards Neyistan, towards our own essence. A Sunday afternoon we take a break from the speed of city life and come together to experience Deep Listening with Hz. Rumi's poetry and the Ney (reed flute). The only thing you need to bring with you is your presence and ears that are willing to listen.

During these two hours, besides reading Masnavi with Ney (in Farsi, Turkish and English) we will experience sitting and listening in a circle. Together we will explore how Sufi poetry and wisdom can guide us in our daily lives, with several practices. This is the practice of meaningful conversation, and what we call Listening to the Center. In some journeys, depending on the conditions we may improvise and explore with other ways such as drawing, imagination and collective singing.
