The Sufi, the honey-seller and the Hatef
a story from Attar's Language of the Birds
Walking in the streets of Baghdad, the Sufi heard a singing voice: I carry amazing honey, selling in a cheap price, anyone needs some?
The Sufi responded: Hey, patient man, will you sell some in exchange with nothing? The seller responded: Stay away now, aren't you crazy? Who sells something for nothing?
Hatef* said: Sufi, come! Step one shop higher. In exchange for nothing we will offer you everything, and even more, if you want...
